Description

The Immaculate Conception is also called the Virgin of Passion, because Christ turns his gaze to the two Angels who are depicted on either side of the Virgin holding the Cross, the Spear and the Sponge in their hands.

The Virgin in this image holds Christ on her right hand with her left hand under his bare and bent knees and protectively carries on her shoulder her right hand with her long and thin fingers.

Christ nests in the arms of His mother, with his face, turned to the archangel Gabriel, pointing to the main symbols of the Passion: the great Cross of His future sacrifice and the crown of his mockery.
