Description

The Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and told her, among other things, that she would give birth to a son who would be the son of God and reign. The Virgin promised to marry Joseph but before they met it was found out that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit exactly as the Archangel Gabriel told her. After the birth of Jesus, the Virgin placed the baby Christ in a manger because there was no room for them after Joseph and the Virgin left their house and went to Bethlehem for the census of the Roman Empire. The magicians visited the baby Christ after a star appeared just above the baby. Joseph and the Virgin took Christ to Egypt, avoiding the ruthless Herod who wanted to kill Christ. Herod ordered all babies under the age of two to be killed in Bethlehem. After the death of Herod, Joseph, the Virgin Mary and Christ went to Nazareth, Galilee, Israel. Jesus‘ parents took Jesus to God’s temple in Jerusalem, as required by the Mosaic Law. There, two prophets, Symeon and Anna, guided by the Holy Spirit, recognized the baby Christ, got excited and said that the baby is the Savior.
